iKNOT Approach to resolve CRPS Shoulder-Hand Syndrome:
-thinking outside-the-box
iKNOT - to unknot the neuropathic hand/arm problems & pain
iKNOT Approach encompasses not just the most updated research evidences but also fills the gaps of their missing components. It is much more than treatment of hand, wrist, elbow, & shoulder separately.
CRPS involves multi-level, multi-factor & multi-mechanism.
Dr. Anisa Kong has been an occupational therapist for more than 35 years with a rich experience in treating complex acute & chronic hand/arm injuries/pain/problems, as bad as CRPS Shoulder-Hand Syndrome, in a variety of healthcare settings including work hardening program. She is the founder of "iKNOT Approach" which is an innovative concepts, thorough & organized way to tackle and resolve the hand/arm problems & pain:
-in a much simpler way
-in a much shorter time to get your patients better
"iKNOT" is
"integrative Kong's Neurological & Orthopaedic Treatment",
which will change the way you manage CRPS Shoulder-Hand Syndrome.
Dr. Kong got her undergraduate Occupational Therapy (OT) training in 1986, and upgraded to a post-professional doctor degree (OTD) in OT in 2009. She has been certified in hand therapy (CHT) since 1994, certified in Neuro-developmental Treatment (CNDT)-adult hemiplegia (3-week) since 1993.
She is also certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage-UE (86-hr), & trained in Acupuncture (50x2-hr), Manual Joint Mobilization, Mobilization of Nervous System, Graded Motor Imagery, Kinesiotaping, Tai Chi/Yoga/Pilate, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofasical Release, Graston Technique, Functional Capacity Evaluation and many others.
Dr. Kong has been doing so well in solving CRPS shoulder to hand problems that she got a lot of compliments from surgeons and colleagues.
"Plastic surgeons have provided unsolicited feedback about Anisa's contributions in their clinics and improved clinical outcomes for their clients since she had been present in their clinics." A North American Hospital.
Upon a request from colleagues & due to Opioid Crisis,
Dr. Kong feels she has a calling to develop this iKNOT approach, which is easier for patients to understand, & for therapists to analyze. Dr. Kong would like to share and train more therapists to continue work on improving the effectiveness and efficacy of this approach so as to reach out and help more patients in need.
